This past week, Natty Paint has been busy dressing Sherell Rowe for her album release in August! We worked with Rowe’s producer, Jesse Jackson, from Dark Plant Records for the photo shoot as well.
Jesse and Emily Li Mandri (owner/designer of Natty Paint) found inspiration for the shoot from vintage clothes.
Sherell Rowe is wearing a one of a kind bathing suit that has been altered to make a low neckline. The one piece is adorned with a vintage brooch and the shoulder pieces were constructed from vintage sequins as well.

Tim Coburn was the photographer for the photo shoot. He did an amazing job making Sherell Rowe look stunning in her vintage bathing suit.

Alright, so lately, we’ve been talking about our visits to New York City, to LA, San Fran, Philly, Virginia…
Let’s just say we’ve been globetrotting. And it’s been great. Not only have we been able to check out each city’s distinct (and evolving) hipster scene, eat lots of ice cream, and generally hang out, we also succeeded in selling Natty Paint to a number of boutiques!
You may be wondering: What city? We may have an answer: New York City. On Wednesday we are dropping off clothing at AuH20 Recycled Clothing Store in the East Village, and Nydesignroom, an uber hip fashion and furniture store in Williamsburg (If you need to procrastinate, sift through Nydesignroom’s glowing review in New York Mag here)
Both stores are eco-friendly and serve up heaping portions of style with a pinch of art. Delicious.

Almost as colorful as our spring line!
Spring is just around the corner! The very mention of Spring just oozes delightful thoughts of flowers, 75 degree days, chirping birds, fresh-squeezed happiness, and of course, Natty paint’s participation in Spring Fairs!
So far, we are planning on participating in Johns Hopkins’ Spring Fair April 23-25, and Towson University’s reputed Towsontown Spring Festival May 1st and May 2nd! We will be selling our blossoming (both literally and figuratively) items of clothing: so be sure to visit us at our booth and pick up some of our lively tees!
(Did I mention the Hopkins Spring Fair sells everything edible from candy apples to Jamaican jerk chicken? Incentive? Yes please.)

Natty Paint is gaining both local and broad recognition via the online community. And should we be surprised? After our new lookbook and lovely photoshoot we can only assume more blog-coverage is soon to come!

Some local write-ups… To peep a Q & A sesh with the designer click here - or - View a review of Natty Paint’s innovative designs - and last but certainly not least - Glance over this quirky interview with Radar Redux. It shouts-out to Natty Paint, and mentions our hand painted sweatshirts. Lovely!
