Natty Paint is making strides in Baltimore! We’re on the front page of this week’s City Paper, which is available for free all over Baltimore! This is a huge honor for us and great exposure. Thanks everyone for the support!
Greater Homewood Community Corporation, a local non-profit organization for which we designed and printed shirts for this past fall for their 40 Trees in 40 Neighborhoods initiative, congratulated us for the feature in City Paper on their blog.
In celebration of the feature story, they are offering the Natty Paint 40 Trees tees at a special discounted rate of ONLY $15 for one week only! Each one was hand-printed by Natty Paint on organic cotton with eco-friendly inks and can be purchased at their online store. All proceeds go towards GHCC’s efforts to plant 1,600 trees by Spring 2011.
The Phillips Collection is a modern art museum located in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
The Phillips Collection is “an intimate museum combined with an experiment station.” The museum is an exceptional collection of modern and contemporary art in a dynamic environment for collaboration, innovation, engagement with the world, scholarship, and new forms of public participation.
Natty Paint has been commissioned to design and print 215 T-shirts to be sold at the museum store.
The shirts are red with a fierce yet modern design in the front that fit with the ideals of the museum. Be sure to check out the museum and the museum shop!
Houseoft, founded by Tt The Arti$t is having a t-shirt launch party this Saturday, June 5th!
Natty Paint has collaborated with Tt to create some awesome shirts.
Tt The Arti$t will be performing live with Murder Mark at City of Gods Boutique store in Baltimore. Store hours are 12-8 PM and the party is from 5-8 PM. Check out her music at www.myspace.com/houseoftproductions.
This Saturday, June 5th, Natty Paint will be in a fashion show in Williamsburg, Brooklyn at Brooklyn Kingdom. We will be joined by two other designers, Symptoms Culture Shock and Jae-Woo Kim. Besides these designers there will also be a bunch of great artists, photographers and live music.
We’re really excited to be featured in it and you can find more details about this on its Facebook page. We hope to see you there!
We recently found out that Lucy Liu and Brie Larson have both bought Natty Paint items at AuH2O, a store in New York that carries some of our clothes. We are so excited about this and hope that they get their friends hooked on Natty too.
Here is a picture of the dress that Brie Larson bought:
Also, Lucy Liu was spotted by People Magazine walking right across the street from AuH2O:
These two lovely ladies are in a movie called East Fifth Bliss together and it is rumored that Brie Larson will be sporting her Natty Paint in the movie. Get pumped!
Step aside, Vicky Cristina. It’s looks like Barcelona’s latest love affair may very well be with Natty Paint, thanks in part to Barcelona-based band Delorean, a hypnotic and sunny electro synthpop group hailing allll the way up north from Zarutz, Spain.
They opened for Miike Snow at the 9:30 club last week. After the show we were able to snag up the lovely dudes and give them some customized Natty Paint tee shirts. Ellosencantaron. (That means theyloved, for all the gringos out there.) Loved the shirts so much, in fact, that they planned to wear them to their Philly concert the next day. Buenissimo!
Here’s some pics of the chicos donning Natty Paint:
We are definitely planning on collaborating with them in the future and customizing more of their band tees and posters! Keep watch!
Check out their official myspace page or a review of their album Ayrton Senna, the “perfect summer album.” Here’s an interview with our favorite brassy Basque Boys.
The video has arrived! Check out out Natty Paint’s Emily Li Mandri in an interview with Paul from Gorilla Late Night (And check out his fabulous Natty Paint tie!)
Elated from our tres-successful boutique romp in NYC, we decided to pull a gold rush and head west. ALL the way west. That’s right, fans. California!
In good time, we too will be a part of the republic…
Tomorrow we are headed to the sunshine state. Goodbye boots and sweaters, hello rompers and sandals. What’s on the lineup? As of now, San Francisco, Berkeley, and Los Angeles. From Telegraph Avenue to Santa Monica and back to Haight Ashbury, there will be plenty of opportunities to show the left coast what Bmore fashion is all about and sell our stuff in these radical West Coast cities.
All the elements that make Natty Paint just so Natty are undeniably compatible with the California lifestyle and its general fashion outlook. We can practically smell success in the land of milk and honey. (And burritos. What’s there not to love?)
