Finally we can bask in the glory of another blog about Natty Paint. Towson University’s own Paulette W, or should we say, Ms. Charm’s Chic (her blog-psuedonym) dedicated her latest blog entry to Natty Paint; outlining both our humble beginnings and grandiose future plans. The blog’s main focus is to define Baltimore’s fashions scene- and lucky us- she certainly considers Natty Paint an important and evolving element of Baltimore style.
She even claims we are ready to “make the switch from a local phenomenon to a national phenomenon.” We are optimistic about this! Thanks so much for the shout-out Paulette!
And don’t forget to check out her blog and stay tuned for more exciting (or Natty) updates!

Gutter magazine’s own fashion editor Abdu Ali is creating his own blog- EatonThis.com to explore Baltimore’s grittier, edgy fashion, art, and music scene. In celebration, his launch party- “Faded Celebrity” will take place this Sunday, February 21, starting at 7 pm, at Sub-Basement studios. The event itself is sponsored by Gutter Magazine (sound familiar? Gutter’s own photographer J.M Giordano shot our spring Look Book,) Rendezvous Productions and Arizza Imaging. Major fashion icons such as M.I.A, Edie Sedgwick, and Grace Jones will provide the inspiration for the party’s live Model Installations. These fashions will be on display and smattered throughout the party. Art installations by Jeffrey Kent, Moe Bradford, Leamon Harris,Matthew Muirhead, & Nick Alexander Smith-Rengarts will accompany the fashion installations. This will be a fashion-arts-forward event you don’t want to miss!

Many members of the designer community will be present to support Ali, including… Natty Paint! We will be donning our fabulous gear of course. It will be an elite, funky gathering of some very important local and not-so-local celebrities, photographers, musicians, and fashionistas. Click here for more party details..Hope to see you there!

Spring is just around the corner!

Almost as colorful as our spring line!
The very mention of Spring just oozes delightful thoughts of flowers, 75 degree days, chirping birds, fresh-squeezed happiness, and of course, Natty paint’s participation in Spring Fairs!
So far, we are planning on participating in Johns Hopkins’ Spring Fair April 23-25, and Towson University’s reputed Towsontown Spring Festival May 1st and May 2nd! We will be selling our blossoming (both literally and figuratively) items of clothing: so be sure to visit us at our booth and pick up some of our lively tees!
(Did I mention the Hopkins Spring Fair sells everything edible from candy apples to Jamaican jerk chicken? Incentive? Yes please.)

What comes to mind when one thinks of Baltimore’s fashion scene? Who triumphs as commander of the B’more style squadron? Natty Paint emerged victorious without even having to don a pair of boxing gloves in the face-off (after all, we are eco-friendly lovers..not fighters..)

What are we talking about exactly? Just some blog-action on the part of Paulette Wilson, a senior Journalism major at Towson University, who was commissioned by a class at Towson to create a specific blog outlining and defining the Baltimore fashion scene: The companies, designers, and stores that comprise of the pulse of Baltimore’s very living and breathing iconoclastic fashion entity. Paulette selected Natty Paint as a very important Baltimore fashion force to be reckoned with! (Alongside the creator of Baltimore Fashion Week April Camlin)
Thus she will interview Natty Paint’s very own Emily Li Mandri in her attempt to define “Baltimore’s fashion scene through asking real experts around town”–and later write up her lovely blog- Ms. Charm’s Chic.
What exciting coverage! Don’t forget to check out both the blog itself and the interview with Natty Paint!

Thanks to everyone for all their orders on etsy! All shipments will go out in the next few days (delayed by the copious amounts of snow) unless I have emailed you to say NP is out of the size you have ordered. In that case it will take about a week to send out your shirt. The sale on tees and sweatshirts has ended, but all winter vintage apparel is still 40-50% off! Let’s refer to this as the SNOWPOCALYPSE SALE! Here’s a pic of what it looks like outside…
A friend posted this video on my fbook wall, click on the link to check it out! It combines two of my favorite things: stop motion animation and t-shirts. Very creative. I can only imagine how much work was involved with producing so many shirts!

Friday’s photo shoot truly exceeded our expectations. While the weather may have been icy cold, the ensuing pictures came out hotter than Baltimore in July. To see the full gamut of photos, check out Natty Paint’s page on Facebook.

Here are some pics from the look book shoot on Friday with J.M. Giordano of Gutter Mag. The weather was nearly arctic, but our fresh designs warmed everybody up (The coffee could have helped too…)
Applying make-up to the models.

Mmm…roast beef, turkey, brie, & hummus sandwiches!
